On May 9, 2025, Electrical and Electronics Engineering students participated in a technical trip to one of the leading energy distribution companies, Çoruh EDAŞ, as part of the “Power Distribution System” course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Nuroğlu. Throughout the visit, students were provided with extensive information about the equipment and systems used in power distribution networks.

In the first part of the visit, various components used in medium and low voltage distribution systems were introduced, including conductor cables, lighting fixtures, connection accessories, modular cells, disconnectors, circuit breakers, relays, meters, and transformers. Within this scope, students had the opportunity to closely examine the equipment used in the field and gain technical insights directly from experienced personnel.

The second part of the visit took place at the SCADA center. Here, the fault management system integrated with the geographic information system (GIS) was demonstrated in practice. Students learned how interruptions are detected on the system, how they are tracked through OSOS and OMS systems, and how the process is integrated with the call center, including job order creation and the dispatching of field teams. The electronic devices used in the SCADA system were also introduced along with detailed explanations of their functions.

The presentation on the equipment was delivered by Çoruh EDAŞ Deputy Manager Mr. Emre Akyüz, while the SCADA system was explained by Senior Manager of SCADA and Automation Mr. Alperen Ayık and Senior Manager of Outage and Workforce Mr. Mert Şahinler. Throughout the technical visit, Çoruh EDAŞ staff showed great interest and dedication in supporting the students, ensuring a highly productive and informative experience.

Such technical visits allow students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications and enhance their professional vision through direct interaction with the industry. We extend our sincere thanks to Çoruh AKSA Company for making this visit possible.

 

Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği öğrencileri, Doç. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Nuroğlu tarafından yürütülen "Power Distribution System" dersi kapsamında enerji sektörünün önemli kuruluşlarından Çoruh EDAŞ’a teknik bir gezi gerçekleştirdi. Gezi boyunca öğrencilere, enerji dağıtım şebekelerinde kullanılan ekipmanlar ve sistemler hakkında kapsamlı bilgiler sunuldu.

Teknik gezinin ilk aşamasında, orta gerilim ve alçak gerilim dağıtım sistemlerinde kullanılan iletken kablolar, armatürler, ek aparatları, modüler hücreler, ayırıcılar, kesiciler, röleler, sayaçlar ve trafolar tanıtıldı. Bu kapsamda, öğrenciler sahada kullanılan donanımları yakından inceleme ve uzman personelden teknik detaylar öğrenme fırsatı buldu.

Gezinin ikinci aşamasında ise SCADA merkezine geçildi. Burada coğrafi bilgi sistemiyle entegre çalışan arıza yönetim sistemi uygulamalı olarak gösterildi. Arıza oluştuğunda sistem üzerinden nasıl tespit edildiği OSOS ve OMS sistemleriyle nasıl takip edildiği, çağrı merkezi ile olan entegrasyon, iş emri oluşturma süreci ve ekip yönlendirmesi gibi süreçler detaylı bir şekilde anlatıldı. Ayrıca SCADA sisteminde kullanılan elektronik cihazlar tanıtılarak işlevleri hakkında bilgi verildi.

Cihaz tanıtım sunumu Çoruh EDAŞ Müdür Yardımcısı Sn. Emre Akyüz tarafından gerçekleştirilirken, SCADA sistemine dair sunumu ise Scada ve Otomasyon Kıdemli Yönetmeni Sn. Alperen Ayık ve Kesinti ve İşgücü Kıdemli Yönetmeni Mert Şahinler yaptı. Teknik gezi boyunca Çoruh EDAŞ personeli büyük bir ilgi ve özveriyle öğrencilere destek vererek, etkinliğin verimli geçmesini sağladı.

Bu tür teknik geziler sayesinde öğrenciler, teorik bilgilerini sahadaki uygulamalarla pekiştirme imkânı bulmakta, sektörle doğrudan temas kurarak mesleki vizyonlarını geliştirmektedir. Bu geziye imkân verdikleri için Çoruh AKSA şirketine teşekkür ederiz.
