The results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026, which assess universities worldwide based on their sustainability performance, have been announced. Among 2,016 universities worldwide, our University rose 83 places from 480th last year to 397th this year. KTU achieved an overall score of 7,400 in the ranking, which evaluates universities’ environmental sustainability performance across campus infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste and water management, transportation, education and research, and governance and digitalization.

Progress Across Sustainability Indicators

In the 2026 assessment, KTU scored 700 points in Setting and Infrastructure (SI), 1,375 in Energy and Climate Change (EC), 1,200 in Waste (WS), 750 in Water (WR), 1,337.5 in Transportation (TR), 1,050 in Education and Research (ED), and 987.5 in Governance and Digitalization (GD).

KTU’s 83-place rise in the ranking reflects its continued efforts in sustainable campus practices, energy efficiency, efficient use of resources, waste and water management, environmentally friendly transportation, and sustainability-oriented education and research.
