Trabzon is on the High Technology Platforms Map Thanks to KTU
Within the Excellence Center Support Programme, which is the highest-budgeted and most prestigious type of academic support provided by TÜBİTAK, the aim is for universities to specialize and become centers of excellence by collaborating with industry and public R&D units. Research programs that are scientifically significant, have traceable objectives, and hold high commercialization potential in the priority areas of our country are supported by TÜBİTAK through this program.
The goal of the projects, carried out by universities, industrialists, and public institutions through the creation of a high technology platform, is to "develop domestic products that can compete in international markets instead of high-tech imported products."
TÜBİTAK shared the Türkiye map containing these high technology platforms with the public. On the map, which also includes the city of Trabzon, our university participated in these platforms with three different projects (PAN-TER, TR.AQUA, and KUANTAY), bringing Trabzon onto the map.
