FAZ 2025: A Two-Day Program on Sustainability and Lean Production

The annual FAZ (Awareness Summit), organized by the Karadeniz Technical University Industrial Engineering Club, was held on 4–5 December 2025 at the Industrial Engineering Department Building. This year’s theme, “Lean Production in Sustainability and Carbon Footprint,” drew more than 300 participants from various disciplines.

Speakers from several leading institutions contributed to the program, including Yunus Emre Öztürk (VESTAS), Bedrihan Güleç (ÇAMSAN ORDU), Mehmet Sezgin (DOKA), Ahmet Ayhan (ETİ), Arzu Konyalı (LC Waikiki), Zafer Yücesan (TEMA), Trabzon Regional Forestry Director Emin Yılmaz, the Eastern Black Sea Branch President of the Chamber of Forest Engineers Faruk Aksu, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Yılmaz from KTÜ. They shared insights into sustainability practices, lean production approaches, and sector-specific experiences.

Throughout the event, the foyer area featured various stands where participants could explore products, engage with companies, and expand their professional networks. Drawings and activities held during the breaks added to the event’s lively atmosphere.

FAZ 2025 concluded as an informative and engaging platform, offering students opportunities to strengthen their awareness of sustainability while connecting with industry professionals.
