Karadeniz Technical University welcomed a total of 12 undergraduate and doctoral students from Georgia, Algeria, Morocco, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Short-Term Traineeship Mobility Programme.

Prior to their physical mobility, the participants took part in a Virtual Mobility programme. During the online sessions, students were introduced to Karadeniz Technical University, the city of Trabzon, and Türkiye. They also received presentations covering the traineeship programme, academic expectations, and key aspects of the Erasmus+ programme, helping them prepare for their mobility and facilitating their adaptation before arriving at the university.

At the beginning of the mobility, the students attended an orientation programme organized by the Erasmus Institutional Coordination Office. The programme included comprehensive information on the Erasmus+ programme, participants' rights and responsibilities, university facilities, and campus life. It also provided an excellent opportunity for the students to meet the Erasmus Office team as well as the Erasmus departmental coordinators from the academic units where they would carry out their traineeships, establishing their first academic contacts and learning about the support mechanisms available throughout their mobility.

Following the orientation programme, the students were assigned to the relevant faculties and departments according to their academic backgrounds. Throughout their traineeships, carried out under the supervision of their academic mentors, the participants actively engaged in laboratory work, research activities, and practical training, gaining valuable academic and professional experience.

The mobility programme not only contributed to the academic and professional development of the participants but also fostered intercultural exchange by bringing together students from different countries in a shared academic environment. This Erasmus+ KA171 activity made a significant contribution to Karadeniz Technical University's internationalization strategy and its commitment to strengthening sustainable international academic cooperation.
